Ivanka Hahnenberger

Ivanka Hahnenberger has been working in the international comics industry for 15 years after 23 years in live action and animation production. In comics, through her company VIP Brands Ltd. she has established comics initiatives at Angouleme International Comics Festival rights market (FIBD, MID), Bologna Book Fair (Comics Corner and Ragazzi Comics Awards), Frankfurt Book Fair (Comics Business Center), London Book Fair (Comics Space), LICAF (Rights Market), the EU MEDIA FUND supported CARTOON MOVIE and CARTOON FORUM, The Sophie Castille Awards (International comics in translation awards – 7 awards, 6 countries, 7 languages). She is presently developing a project together with Aung Publishing Group in Myanmar and PEN Myanmar to licence, produce and distribute silent comics to refugees/displaced persons and underprivileged persons in the developing nations.  She has a master’s degree in international development with a specialization in intellectual property and international development.
