AUTHOR, "Hole Sequences", "Alchenit", "Oko Horusa"

RAFAŁ SPÓRNA – (born 1977), graduate of the Radom High School of Fine Arts and Radom Technical University (Visual Education). He has been fascinated with comics since his childhood and first readings of Titus, Romek and ATomek. He started drawing traditionally with ink, but now uses a tablet and graphics programmes to work. The themes of the comics are transhumanism, technological evolution, cyberpunk, contact with an alien civilisation.

The author is interested in different levels of the same reality, its dreamlike sometimes surreal aspect, over which the protagonist has little influence and plays a predetermined role. He draws inspiration from the literature of Stanisław Lem, Philip K. Dick, Jacek Dukaj, Adam Wisniewski-Snerg, Neal Stephenson, Greg Egan and others. Favourite comic book creators: Moebius, Enki Bilal, Andreas, Charles Burns, Daniel Clowes. Of Polish creators: Krzysztof Gawronkiewicz, Grzegorz Rosiński, Bogusław Polch and Jerzy Ozga.
