“Recipe for Friendship” comic book contest for children and teenagers
The International Festival of Comics and Games invites children and young people to participate in the next edition of the comic book competition. This year’s theme is “Recipe for Friendship.”
From the backyard or from school? For a lifetime, or maybe just for a moment? With a person, an animal or even… with a machine? Friendship provides a sense of trust and security. It allows you to share joyful moments, but also gives you support in the more difficult ones. This year’s edition of the MFKiG competition for children and young people takes as its theme one of the most important relationships that people can establish. We encourage you to discover the non-obvious faces of friendship and show it through the eyes of children’s and teenagers’ imagination.
The purpose of the contest is to create an original comic strip dealing with the theme of friendship – one of the most important relationships in human life. Participants can present friendship in any form: realistic, fantastic, satirical or educational. The comic strip can depict real or completely fictional relationships, concern people, animals and even machines – only the author’s imagination is the limit.
Rules of participation:
- The contest is aimed at children and young people.
- The subject of the competition is the author’s comic book relating to the theme “Recipe for Friendship”.
- The form, technique and length of the work are free – the important thing is that it should be an original story created by the participant.
The contest is divided into three age categories of participants:
- 10 – 12 years old (born between 1.01.2013 – 31.12.2015);
- 13 – 15 years old (born between 1.01.2010 – 31.12.2012);
- 16 – 18 years old (born between 1.01.2007 – 31.12.2009).
The authors of the three best competition works in a given age category will receive:
- for taking 1st place – in-kind prizes: a gift card worth 450 PLN for the purchase of art materials, publications and a Comixus statuette;
- for second place – a gift card worth 350 PLN for the purchase of art materials, publications and a Comixus statuette;
- for third place – a gift card worth PLN 250 for the purchase of art materials, publications and a Comixus statuette.
The author of a distinguished entry in a given age category will receive a gift card worth 150 PLN for the purchase of art materials and publications from the Organizer.
In order to participate in the contest, one must:

- attach the contest work in electronic version or
- send a paper version of the work by regular mail to the Organizer’s address (address details available on the website: www.komiksfestiwal.com)
Deadline for submission of works: until August 15, 2025.
Winners will receive in-kind prizes and publication of selected works in festival materials.
