The Sophie Castille Translation Award

The Sophie Castille Translation Award is an international initiative that aims to highlight the key role of translators in popularizing world comics in local markets. It was established at the initiative of VIP Brands Ltd. and the COMICA and LICAF festivals. Awards are currently given for translations into Polish, English, Italian, Spanish/Catalan, Slovenian and Greek.

We invite you to submit entries for the Sophie Castille Translation Award as part of the 36th International Comics and Games Festival in Lodz, Poland.

The competition is open to translations of comics that appeared in print in Polish between August 1, 2024 and July 31, 2025. Entries can be made by individuals, legal entities and organizational units, especially publishing houses. Each publisher may submit any number of translations, but only one translation by a given translator.

The winner or the winning team will receive a financial prize of PLN 4,000 gross, a diploma and a Sophie Castille Awards statuette sponsored by VIP Brands Ltd.

The deadline for submissions is July 31, 2025.
