Registration for the cosplay contest at the 36th MFKiG is now open!

If your heart beats faster at the thought of perfectly recreated cosplay, and a needle in your hand is your favorite weapon, we have something special for you! Registration for the cosplay contest at the 36th MFKiG is now open!

The cosplay contest at the 36th MFKiG is an opportunity to showcase your talent, creativity, and stage performance skills. Perform solo or in a group, compete for cash prizes, and join the ranks of the best costume artists in Poland.

Where and when?

The competition will take place on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at the festival grounds.

What do you need to do to participate?

All you have to do is create your own costume, register by September 14, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. using the online form, and show yourself to the world!

You can perform solo or in a group. Just remember that purchased costumes will not be accepted – creativity and your own work are what counts! Costumes that have already participated in other competitions are also welcome. Underage participants must provide parental consent.

Three chances to win

The jury will evaluate participants in three main categories, each with a prize of PLN 1,500 funded by EC1 Łódź:

  • Best cosplay – for the best representation of characters from games, comics, movies, TV series, or illustrations. What counts is the quality of workmanship, details, consistency with the reference, and overall impression.
  • Best stage performance – this is all about the show! What counts is the story, acting, stage movement, and consistency of the presentation.
  • Best original design – something from your own imagination: an original design inspired by fantasy that will win the hearts of the jury with its creativity.

In addition, the organizer reserves the right to award honorable mentions – these may include comics, books, and other surprise prizes.

The whole event consists of three parts:

  1. Morning stage rehearsal
  2. Jury round – individual costume presentation and interview with the judges
  3. Stage performance – public show in front of an audience during the Festival.

The indoor stage (8 x 5 m) will be equipped with colored lights, microphones, and an LED screen. The performance time is 1 to 2.5 minutes (for duets) or up to 3 minutes (for larger groups).

Technical note!

No fire, liquids, AI backgrounds, or anything that makes a mess or poses a hazard may be used. Want to throw something at the audience? Ask the organizer first.

Application form.

Parental consent (for underage participants).
