A new award for short comic story from by kultura gniewu and MFKiG!
We are happy to announce that at this year’s International Festival of Comics and Games, for the very first time, a new award at the short comic story competition will be given out – an award of kultura gniewu publishing house!
– kultura gniewu was created to publish comics by Polish authors, who at the time – the year 2000 – were not many. For the past 17 years the landscape of both Polish comics and comics in Poland in general has improved immensively, but albums created by our artists continue to take the most important place in our publishing stategy. They make up half of our comics offer and it is our intent to reach as many readers as possible with them. We keep looking for new talented artists and we hopa that this award will help us with that – says the team behind kultura gniewu publishing house: Jarek Składanek, Paweł Tarasiewicz and Szymon Holcman.
The editorial team of kultura gniewu will pick the best, according to them, short comic story from all the competition entries. Its author/authors will receive:
– 1000 PLN
– comic books published by KG worth 1000 PLN selected by the winner
– all the needed help with working on full-length comic book and its publishing
– Twelve years ago we found short story by Łukasz Ryłko, which only received a special mention from the jury at the time, to be the best among the competition entries. We contacted Łukasz and offered to publish his full-length debut. “Śmiercionośni” have been published in 2007, with the short comic opening this unique album. With this award we would like to come back to this solution and we are glad that the festival agreed to this proposition with pleasure – the kultura gniewu owners add.
