Polish artists draw heroes from DC comics!

Batman in Warsaw, Łódź and Wrocław, Catwoman in Cracow, Flash in Poznań, Superman in Lublin, Aquaman and Green Lantern in Gdańsk. Variant covers for DC comics to be displayed during “The Art of DC. Dawn of Superheroes” exhibit and 30th MFKiG

The most iconic characters of the DC universe will visit Polish cities. Renowned and valued Polish artists were asked by Egmont publishing house to create variant covers for DC comics series, such us Batman Detective Comics, Superman Action Comics, Harley Quinn, Justice League and Flash. The invitation to participate in the project was accepted by prominent artists: Piotr Cieśliński, Zbigniew Kasprzak, Jakub Kijuc, Adam Kmiołek, Piotr Kowalski, Tomasz Larek, Katarzyna Niemczyk, Marek Oleksicki, Grzegorz Przybyś, Marianna Strychowska, Przemysław Truściński. The artwork present varying artstyles and different visions of the iconic characters, but they all are a sign of profound love for comic art.

The comics with variant covers will be published from October 2019 to January 2020.

The covers in large format will be displayed during the 30th International Festival of Comics and Games – the festival is accompanied by the opening of “The Art of DC. Dawn of Superheroes” exhibition. It is next to the main exhibit that the covers and sketches created in the process will be exhibited. The majority of the variant covers artists will visit MFKiG and meet with the festival audience. 

First volumes of the variant comics will be on sale on October 23rd, available only at www.Egmont.pl and in “The Art of DC. Dawn of Superheroes” exhibit shop.
