Nominees for the Sophie Castille Award 2026
The nominees for the Sophie Castille Award for the best translation of a comic book into Polish have been announced. This year’s jury, consisting of Aga Zano, Jakub Demiańczuk and Tomasz Kontny, selected ten translations that will compete for a place
The nominees are:
- Wojciech Birek for the translation from French of „Na końcu wszyscy umierają” (ed. Paweł Timofiejuk), Timof Comics
- Wojciech Góralczyk for the translation from English of „Krew dziewicy” (ed. Karolina Gębska), Kultura Gniewu
- Łukasz Janik for the translation from Korean of „Pieskie szczęście” (ed. Karolina Gębska), Kultura Gniewu
- Jakub Jankowski for the translation from Spanish of „Chaos i Podróż do piekła” (ed. Maciej Mrozowski), Lost in Time
- Paweł Łapiński for the translation from French of „Codzienna walka” (ed. Iwona Gawryś), Wydawnictwo Mandioca
- Arkadiusz Łuba for the translation from German of „Nirwana jest tu” (ed. Tomasz Chlewiński), Timof Comics
- Olga Mysłowska for the translation from French of „Odzyskać pożądanie” (ed. Karolina Gębska), Kultura Gniewu
- Karol Oleksy for the translation from Czech of „Oskar Ed: Mój najlepszy przyjaciel” (ed. Paweł Timofiejuk), Timof Comics
- Piotr Paczkowski for the translation from Swedish of „Naturalna komedia” (ed. Michał Olech), Kultura Gniewu
- Marceli Szpak for the translation from English of „Znam cię” (ed. Karolina Gębska), Kultura Gniewu
Congratulations to all the nominees!
The three finalists will be announced before the 37th International Festival of Comics and Games in Łódź. The winner of the Sophie Castille Award will be revealed during the festival awards ceremony on 19 September 2026.
